Your skin can be too!

Lucky for us, hemp infused products are great tools to carry through the warm weather seasons ahead to help soothe and ease our skin when it gets tested by the elements.

What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. For many of us, when we hear CBD we automatically think “marijuana”. However, while both marijuana and CBD are derived from the hemp plant, CBD contains no THC and has no psychoactive properties associated with it.

CBD is a powerful antioxidant that works both internally and topically with the body’s natural endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoid receptors are located all throughout the body, including directly underneath the skin. This means that CBD wastes no time taking action when applied topically.

UV light, bonfire smoke and other environmental pollutants can cause the build-up of free radicals in the body. Free radicals can lead to wrinkles and discoloration of the skin as well as whole host of other issues. As an antioxidant, CBD has the ability to neutralize free radicals and keep your skin protected.

What can CBD do for summer skin care?

Full-spectrum CBD contains more than just an isolated cannabinoid from pure hemp extract. There are over 100 different cannabinoids in the hemp plant and they each interact with each other to increase effectiveness. This concept pf the “entourage effect” has proven more effective than using CBD cannabinoid all by its self.

The other minerals, vitamins, proteins and fatty acids can assist the skin in a number of ways including moisturizing, toning and protecting.

CBD is known for its soothing properties. One of which is that it acts as a natural anti-inflammatory substance. This is perfect for when temperatures start to sky rocket and your body starts to sweat more. A result of this is to usually break out in spots. Since inflammation is the number one cause of acne, utilizing a CBD infused topical product can ease things up to a bit, and possibly save you from unwanted spot epidemic.

One of the biggest benefits of CBD oil is its ability to promote homeostasis throughout the body. This includes the skin. The restorative properties of topical CBD like Receptor body butter can help balance out your skin in many situations including issues such as oil production, dryness and blemishes.
